We booked the Dower House Hotel for our wedding in April. It’s an incredible venue, with delicious food, lovely grounds for photos and attentive staff. Carolyn, the wedding organiser, was exceptional and facilitated an amazing day for us. Ethan did a great job with the music for the ceremony. Nothing was too much trouble. Lovely rooms, high standard, very clean. All the guests at breakfast remarked on how nice it was. The food was excellent, lovely large portions, and they catered for gluten free, vegetarian and vegan. The bar was well provisioned, just as well as we made a dent in their stocks and the buffet was high quality and really lovely. Such a great day, such a lovely venue, such attentive staff. Well done all at the Dower, you did so well, you made our day, thankyou.

Such an Amazing Weekend

Thank you so much to the Dower House for hosting our wedding and for helping to make it such an amazing weekend. The hotel could not have been more accommodating or flexible with us, especially as it’s been the longest wedding in the planning, having originally booked for 2020, moved it to 2021 and then 2022. Carolyn has been amazing throughout and her experience as a wedding planner filled us with confidence that everything would be perfect, and it was.
Having exclusive use over two nights gave all our guests the chance to fully enjoy the hotel and grounds and everyone loved their bedrooms, the gardens, the amazing food and the friendly staff.
Other special mentions have to go to Jed, Head Chef, who takes so much pride in the food he prepares and ensured that everything we ate was delicious. Jed, we look forward to hearing when you have been awarded your first rosette, as it is very much deserved. Then to Max who facilitated our first night (his gin bar design got everyone talking) and also our wedding day evening expertly: nothing was too much trouble to him and he did everything with flair and a big smile. The fireworks display, arranged through the hotel was awesome too.
We will never forget our wedding celebrations at the Dower House. Best wishes to you all and we will be back!

CAROLYN!!!!! Thank you for EVERYTHING!!! My word we would not of had the beautiful wedding that we did on Saturday if wasn’t for all your support all the way from last July until Saturday. Truly, we can’t thank you enough!

We chose the Dower House to host our wedding at the end of February. From our 1st visit with Carolyn we felt welcome and comfortable. From the day we first got in touch, all the way through to leaving the hotel the day after the wedding, we were treated with the best care imaginable. Nothing we asked for was too much, every single email (and I know there were quite a few…) were answered quickly and our whole experience couldn’t have been any better. No matter what, you and your staff sorted it, nothing was too much to ask. We really appreciate how flexible you were throughout the planning and the day to ensure we had a very unique and perfect day just the way we wanted it. Every single member of staff was absolutely delightful. I can only remember Peter’s name but the other young man who hosted was fantastic, so polite and helpful, I honestly felt like a queen!
Apart from uncontrollable worries, the whole day felt completely effortless on our part. I felt like my only job was to enjoy myself and everything else was done absolutely seamlessly by you and the staff. I felt very relaxed and we both really enjoyed our day. The whole experience felt so special and personal. Every member of staff we came across, even those who weren’t directly involved in the wedding, knew who we were and were so polite and welcoming. The card and the personalised bottle of fizz in the room was a beautiful touch. All of the rooms were amazing and the orangery was such a perfect space to relax and get ready in the morning.
The venue looked absolutely incredible and the turn around between parts of the day was seamless and fantastic. Coming back down in the morning and seeing the venue set back up with our flowers for us to have breakfast with our whole wedding party was wonderful. I am rambling now but we honestly are just over the moon with how perfect our day was.

We cannot recommend The Dower House Hotel enough! While looking for the perfect wedding venue, we were looking for a hotel that was intimate, quiet and picturesque. The Dower House hotel met these requirements. Not wanting a traditional wedding, The Dower House hotel and staff could not have been more accommodating. Instead of a traditional three course wedding breakfast, we had an afternoon tea.
The Hotchkin suite is stunning and comfortable. It was perfect.
Carolyn was excellent from our initial meeting right through to the end of the day. There when we needed her but out of sight when we didn’t. A sign of a professional wedding coordinator. The rest of the staff were brilliant and faultless.

Beyond helping us through covid and bending over backwards to make sure we could have a wedding after multiple reschedules, everything was first rate. The rooms, the hospitality, the staff and the food was just as good when it was served for nearly 60 during covid as it was when we first did our tasting session pre Covid. Peter and Carolyn and their staff especially MOTM Liam could not have been better.

I can’t recommend the Dower House enough. we were originally planned to marry on the 15th August 2020 due to covid we had to postpone, to may 15th then had to postpone again to 12th of June. and every single postponement was done with ease. My wife and I chose to get married in Woodhall Spa, and after looking at possible venues decided to hold our ceremony and reception at the Dower House. After speaking to the manageress, Anne, we were shown around and was amazed on how big and beautiful the Dower House is.
We immediately said yes, and Anne commenced the organising of our special day. We were totally put at ease and kept up to date on everything that was happening. We had a taster meal, to which everything was exquisitely presented and tasted beautiful, which did make our choice of wedding food very difficult.
The wedding day went without a hitch, Anne and her team were amazing, the set up was fantastic both outdoors and in the dining hall, and Anne’s organisational skills were definitely on show when it came to the ceremony. There was nothing too much trouble when it came to our wedding day the staff were extremely polite and professional. Well done The Dower House, you have made both myself and my beautiful wife incredibly happy.
